BERHAMPUR: A possible dacoity attempt was foiled last night due to timely action by Bada Bazaar police. Police raided a group of miscreants who had congregated at an isolated place in Sriramnagar. Though some miscreants managed to escape, police nabbed three of them. A cash of over Rs 1.7 lakh, a revolver with two live bullets, five swords, three mobile phones and eight country bombs were seized from their possession. They have been identified as Pinto Patra, Suresh Behera and Surendra Pradhan. During interrogation, they confessed to have planned to commit a major robbery in the city. They were forwarded to court today.
